Your Questions Answered

When a loved one needs care at home, families want clarity, trust, and peace of mind. At Always Caring of Connecticut, we believe transparency and communication are just as important as quality care. Below are answers to the most common questions families ask.

What is non-medical home care?

Non-medical home care provides hands-on assistance and companionship to help seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes. While caregivers do not provide medical treatment, they support daily routines, safety, and overall well-being.

Who benefits from this type of care?

Non-medical home care is ideal for:

  • Seniors who wish to age in place

  • Individuals living with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or Parkinson’s disease

  • Adults recovering from illness or surgery

  • Families seeking dependable support and consistent communication

Care can be short-term or long-term and is always personalized.

What services do our caregivers provide?

Our professionally trained caregivers assist with:

Personal Care & Daily Living

• Bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene

• Toileting and incontinence support

• Mobility assistance and fall prevention

Home Support (Client Use Only)

• Meal planning and preparation

• Light housekeeping for the client’s living areas

• Laundry and linen care for the client’s personal use

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment

Companionship & Engagement

• Friendly conversation and emotional support

• Cognitive engagement and meaningful activities

• Accompaniment to appointments and errands

Safety, Oversight & Communication

• Medication reminders (non-administration)

• Routine monitoring and reassurance

• Daily communication with caregivers

• Regular family updates on care, routines, and well-being

Are your caregivers specially trained?

Yes. All Always Caring of Connecticut caregivers are:

  • Fully trained in Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s care

  • Required to participate in monthly, in-house training and education

  • Carefully screened, background-checked, and supervised

For 12-hour and live-in cases, families have the opportunity to meet the caregiver before care begins, ensuring comfort, compatibility, and peace of mind.

What services are not included?

Non-medical caregivers do not perform medical or clinical tasks, including medication administration, wound care, injections, or medical treatments. When medical services are needed, we coordinate with licensed healthcare providers.

How is care paid for?

We accept:

  • Private Pay

  • Long-Term Care Insurance

Our team is happy to assist with navigating coverage and paperwork.

Getting started is easy

We begin with a personalized in-home assessment, followed by ongoing communication with caregivers and families—so everyone stays informed, connected, and confident.

Care That Feels Like Family

At Always Caring of Connecticut, we provide more than care—we provide communication, consistency, and compassion every step of the way.
